Scialabba Named Chair of Subcommittee on Government Information and Technology

February 28, 2025

HARRISBURG – Rep. Stephenie Scialabba (R-Butler) has been named the Republican chair of the House State Government Committee’s Subcommittee on Government Information and Technology.

“In the governmental and cyber spheres, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Efficiency, effectiveness and security are top priorities as I take on this new role. I look forward to leveraging my experience as an attorney in this space to advance policy and legislation that will positively impact Pennsylvania,” said Scialabba.

The subcommittee comes under the direction of the House State Government Committee, of which Scialabba is a member.

“In today’s world, technology is always evolving,” said Rep. Brad Roae (R-Crawford/Erie), Republican chair of the House State Government Committee. “It is vital that state government keep up with changes in order to run efficiently and prevent security breaches. I look forward to working with Rep. Scialabba in this area.”

The House State Government Committee is responsible for reviewing legislation dealing with all aspects of state government, including proposed amendments to the Pennsylvania Constitution, statewide initiatives and referenda, the Public Official and Employee Ethics Act, the Regulatory Review Act, legislative redistricting, Election Code reform, lobbyist disclosure and campaign financing.

“The State Government Committee oversees legislation that deals with a significant amount of sensitive information; I appreciate Chairman Roae trusting me to lead a select group of members as we take a critical look at government information and technology in an ethical and accountable manner,” said Scialabba.
